Sushma is a chartered physiotherapist with extensive experience in a wide range of specialities. Sushma has worked as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in many NHS and private hospitals in the UK. Sushma has a Masters degree in physiotherapy from University College London and is also a freelance lecturer, teaching on undergraduate physiotherapy and post graduate courses.
Some of her achievements include coordinating a two year project for the South Asian Community in London borough of Barnet funded by the British Heart Foundation. Sushma also set up the Cardiac rehabilitation services at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow, Middlesex (1999-2004). Sushma was a lecturer at Brunel University, West London on the undergraduate physiotherapy course from 2003-2007.
Sushma’s excellent command over South Asian languages including Gujarati, Hindi and Urdu is an asset for rehabilitation of patients from this cultural background.
Her particular interest lies in pain management and rehabilitation of patients using bio-psychosocial model of care. Sushma’s expertise lies in developing and guiding the rehabilitation programmes for patients with chronic pain and neurological & heart conditions.
