Our multidisciplinary team at Sherwood consists of chartered physiotherapists, a senior podiatrist, specialist occupational therapist, senior speech therapist, an experienced medical general practitioner, senior pharmacist/acupuncturist , a senior midwife, massage therapist, a fully qualified pilates instructor, a yoga & exercise instructor with a vast range of experience.

Our interporfessional approach is a key to provide a seamless care to our clients.

All therapists are registered with the Health Professional Council and are members of their professional organisation.

At Sherwood we take pride in providing an exclusive service for the multi-cultural community in north-west London and cater for people whose first language is not English. The languages our clinicians can speak include Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Telugu, Tamil, Swahili, Polish and Hungarian.

Sushma Sanghvi B.Sc. M.Sc. M.A. Dip NARTC. MCSP
Physiotherapist & Practice Principal

Sushma is a chartered physiotherapist with extensive experience in a wide range of specialities. Sushma has worked as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in many NHS and private hospitals in the UK. Sushma has a Masters degree in physiotherapy from University College London and is also a freelance lecturer, teaching on undergraduate physiotherapy and post graduate courses.
Some of her achievements include coordinating a two year project for the South Asian Community in London borough of Barnet funded by the British Heart Foundation. Sushma also set up the Cardiac rehabilitation services at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow, Middlesex (1999-2004). Sushma was a lecturer at Brunel University, West London on the undergraduate physiotherapy course from 2003-2007.
Sushma’s excellent command over South Asian languages including Gujarati, Hindi and Urdu is an asset for rehabilitation of patients from this cultural background.
Her particular interest lies in pain management and rehabilitation of patients using biopsychosocial model of care. Sushma’s expertise lies in developing and guiding the rehabilitation programmes for patients with chronic pain and neurological & heart conditions.

Raj Challuri BSc. M.Sc MCSP
Physiotherapist

Our highly experienced senior physiotherapist at Sherwood, Raj also holds a  Diploma in Sports Medicine and Nutrition and  specialises in sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.  With over ten years experience both in England and overseas, Raj’s expertise lie in treating and managing musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.

Rajvi Shah BSc MCSP
Physiotherapist

An enthusiastic practitioner with over five years post-graduate physiotherapy experience in the NHS, Rajvi is highly specialised in treating patients in the musculoskeletal setting and has also had extensive yoga & pilates training.  Apart from treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions, Rajvi also leads the spinal strength/pilates class at Sherwood.

Ambika Menon BSc MCSP. MAPCP. MBABTT
Physiotherapist

Ambika is a Bobath trained paediatric physiotherapist practitioner  with a wealth of experience in treating young babies to teenage children with a wide range of neurological and developmental disorders including delayed milestones, cerebral palsy, spina bifida,  dyspraxia,  Retts syndrome, muscular dystrophies.

Clare Downie BSc MCSP MACPWH
Physiotherapist

Clare is a highly specialised women’s health physiotherapist with experience in treating and management of conditions such as incontinence, pregnancy related musculoskeletal conditions (e.g. symphysis pubis dysfunction, back pain), antenatal and postnatal care. Clare has also been a lecturer at the Middlesex University London teaching on a post registration course for midwives as well as a clinical educator for physiotherapists specialising in women’s health.

Dipa Gadhia BSc MCSP
Physiotherapist

An enthusiastic and caring physiotherapist, Dipa has experience in working with patients with orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions and learning difficulties. At Sherwood she leads the Fitness and Stamina class and also treats patients for musculoskeletal conditions and does home visits.

Ansul Dattani  BPharm (Hon).MSc. MRPS. Dip in Acupuncture. D.Hyp
Acupuncturist

Ansul qualified as a pharmacist from the University of Wales, and his interest in complementary medicine led him to obtain a diploma in Acupunture from the British College of Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine as well as a Diploma in Hypnotherapy. With over twenty years experience, Ansul’s ability to combine his knowledge of conventional pharmaceutics with complementary medicine is a great asset to our team. Ansul has worked at the pain clinic in Hillingdon Hospital, West London and does also work with the NHS as a senior pharmacist.

Ratna Raichura MSc. BSc. M.Ch.S. HPC
Podiatrist (Chiropodist)

Ratna qualified from Southampton university ten years ago and went on to pursue a Masters Degree in sports science.  Having had experience of working in England and in Kenya, Ratna treats a wide range of foot conditions  at Sherwood from  corns and calluses to ingrowing toe nail surgery. She specialises in biomechanics and diabetes. 

Dr Aseem Kashif  MBBS  FRCS(Edin)  FRCSI DSM
GP and Sports Physician

Dr Aseem Kashif, is a qualified General Practitioner and experienced clinician with an interest in the management of musculoskeletal conditions, furthermore he has completed a Diploma in Sports Medicine. Dr Kashif offers medical  consultations including general check up, prescriptions and will also arrange any medical tests.

Rebecca Bright BSc MRCSLT
Speech Therapist

Rebecca is a highly specialised speech and language therapist with eight years of experience of working in Australia and England.  Rebecca’s main interest is in providing specific treatment to clients with neurological problems such as stroke, head injury.

Gabriella Gulyas Dip Massage Therapy
Massage Therapist

Our very experienced and delightful massage therapist Gabriella, is able to offer a wide range of therapeutic massages with or without the use of aromatherapy oils. Gabriella combines her knowledge of reflexology with her massage skills and is a great asset to the Sherwood team.

Rashmi Meswani B.A.
Yoga Instructor

Having trained in the Mumbai based Institute of Yoga and with a huge experience of teaching Yoga for health, Rashmi is a British Wheel of Yoga instructor and leads our Clinical Yoga class at Sherwood. In conjunction with the physiotherapy team Rashmi also organises Yoga workshops at Sherwood. Rashmi is able to see clients on one to one basis as well as in a small group.

Luckshmi Jayadeva
Physiotherapy Assistant

Luckshmi  is a final year physiotherapy student, soon to be graduating from Brunel University. Luckshmi’s interest lies in paediatric physiotherapy and in organising  workshops, classes. Dr Ameet Bakhai MBBS, MRCP
Consultant cardiologist

Dr Bakhai is an experienced cardiologist with a special clinical interest in acute coronary syndromes, heart failure and atypical chest pain.  He has also been involved in the promotion and evaluation of guideline-based clinical practice. His research interests include health economics, interventional trials, acute coronary syndromes, lipid lowering agents and statistics alongside clinical trials. In January 2006, together with Dr Duolao Wang a statitician, he released a book on Understanding Clinical Trials, which has sold more than 10,000 copies to date.

Dr. Ameet Bakhai practices as a consultant cardiologist n the NHS and offers his services at Sherwood seeing patients with  angina, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, pacemakers, atrial fibrillation/flutter, valvular heart disease  to name a few. He also supports the cardiac rehabilitation programme “Heart Smart” at Sherwood..

Mr Kailash Desai   MBBS, FRCS, FRCS(Orth.)
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon & Honorary Senior Lecturer in Knee Surgery @Imperial College

Mr Desai completed orthopaedic training in West London in 1996 including a fellowship in Knee surgery in Adelaide, South Australia. He was appointed as Consultant to Charing Cross and West Middlesex Hospitals and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine. Since then he has developed interest in knee surgery and has a practice specialising in sports injuries and arthritis.

Mr Vedi first qualified in 1992 & fellowship trained in Lower limb reconstruction and Arthroplasty - Sydney Hip and Knee Surgeons and Australian Institute of Musculoskeletal Sciences. His Special clinical interests and specialty clinics include:
